Pioneer Telephone Cooperative, Inc is seeking a driven, strategic and experienced Accounting and Capital Credits Manager to oversee its financial accounting operations. This leadership role is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and FCC Part 32/64 accounting rules. The role is ideal for a highly motivated professional who is an effective communicator that embraces ownership, critical thinking, and developing strong teams while supporting the company's mission and strategic plan. A bachelor's degree in accounting is required to be considered for this position.

This is a full-time, exempt position with standard hours of 8:00 am-5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, and occasional after-hours or weekend responsibilities.

What you will Do:

As the Accounting Manager, you'll guide all Accounting and Capital Credit operations while managing and developing an accounting team. You'll serve as both a financial expert and people leader – coaching, mentoring and collaborating across departments playing a key role in budgeting, audits, and financial analysis ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with strategic initiatives.

Who You'll Lead...

You'll manage a diverse team including:

  • Accountants
  • Accounting Representatives (AP, AR, GL, Inventory, Purchasing, Regulatory, Lifeline/ACP, Capital Credits)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Physical Requirements...

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods, walking, finger dexterity, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity including close vision.
