Accounting Manager

Hybrid: In-Office 3 days

The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the execution of accounting processes for several critical areas for the business including Rebates, Leases, Accounts Payable, Legal, P&L Reviews and related controllership compliance reporting. The position reports to the Senior Director, Accounting and coordinates the daily activities of the team to accurately record the financial transactions generated by business activities. The Accounting Manager works closely with partners in the organization in the development, implementation and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures and controls related to the operational accounting area. The position also plays a crucial role in implementing system enhancements to streamline current processes and will have opportunities to participate in special cross functional projects.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage team of Senior Accountants and offshore team in the performance of assigned accounting areas for month end close, financial statement fluctuation reviews, account reconciliations, supplemental reporting and ad hoc requests.

  • Training, development, and performance management of the team to consistently meet deadlines and KPI metrics

  • Support the business with timely financial reporting and analysis, as required

  • Review monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting deliverables, including, but not limited to, journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis

  • Use financial and accounting experience and acumen to analyze and interpret data to make any recommendations on possible courses of action to improve processes, gain efficiencies and streamline work, where needed

  • Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded with sufficient documentation to support the business purpose of the transactions

  • Review and enhance the monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and assist team in researching differences

  • Drive standardization across financial processes of the regions and operations

  • Coordinate with department management to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures; recommend improvements to policies as appropriate

  • Provide timely and accurate financial information and analysis to support both internal and external reporting

  • Support Operations and FP&A reporting as required

  • Understand and execute internal controls related to accountabilities; proactively seek opportunities to strengthen internal controls

  • Support external and internal audit requirements Partner with FP&A, Financial Reporting, Branch Operations, A/R & A/P teams and/or Franchisee groups to ensure that the business accounting needs are met

  • Support management with financial analysis as required

  • Ensure agreed upon Service Level Agreements are met Ad-hoc tasks and/or projects as necessary

  • Drive standardization across financial processes of the regions and operations

Preferred Education and Experience

  • BA / BS degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 7 years accounting experience
  • Minimum of 3 years accounting management experience
  • 2 years in public accounting is a plus
  • Professional accountancy certification such as CPA, CIMA, ACCA, ACA
  • Consistent, demonstrated leadership skills
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting, GAAP procedures and SOX controllership
