Accounting Manager - Distribution - Base Salary to 100k/year - Hoffman Estates, ILOur client, a growing specialty distribution company serving the commercial HVAC, plumbing, and electrical industries, is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their team in the Hoffman Estates, IL area.This onsite role is responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day accounting operations, month‑end close, financial reporting, treasury activities, sales tax compliance, and accounting staff supervision. The Accounting Manager will work directly with company leadership and play a key role in financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, and ERP transition initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring hands‑on accounting leadership experience within a distribution, wholesale, manufacturing, or industrial environment and have experience managing the full accounting cycle in a small‑to‑mid‑sized business setting.ResponsibilitiesManage full‑cycle accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, journal entries, and bank reconciliationsLead month‑end and year‑end close processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and financial statement preparationPrepare monthly financial reporting packages, variance analyses, and supporting documentation for leadership reviewPartner with company leadership on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning activitiesMonitor working capital, collections, vendor payments, and cash positioningOversee multi‑state sales tax compliance, filings, nexus tracking, and coordination with external tax partnersSupport ERP system transition activities from QuickBooks Enterprise to Microsoft DynamicsSupervise accounting staff, including workload management, training, and cross‑functional supportMaintain internal accounting controls and support process improvement initiativesUtilize Excel for financial analysis, reporting, reconciliations, and data managementQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5+ years of progressive accounting experience within a distribution, wholesale, manufacturing, industrial, or related environmentHands‑on experience managing the full accounting cycle including AP, AR, GL, reconciliations, and financial closeExperience preparing financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance reportingMulti‑state sales tax compliance experience requiredExperience working within ERP systems requiredPrior accounting staff supervisory experience requiredAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills including reporting, reconciliations, and large data set managementExperience supporting cash flow management and working capital activitiesAbility to work onsite in the Hoffman Estates, IL areaCompensationBase salary in the 80k - 100k/year rangeAnnual performance bonusBenefits package including health insurance, paid time off, and additional company benefits#J-18808-Ljbffr
