At Network for Hope (NFH), the Accounting Manager plays a vital role in supporting our mission by leading the daily operations of the Finance Department and partnering with the Controller and CFO to ensure accurate, efficient, and reliable financial processes across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Departmental Management
Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and month/year-end close
Establish and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and best practices
Supervise, coach, and mentor accounting staff
Develop and maintain financial policies and internal procedures
Financial Management & Reporting
Monitor and analyze financial data; prepare reports and statements
Improve systems and processes; recommend and implement corrective actions
Support month-end and year-end close processes
Assist with annual audit coordination and cost report preparation
Compliance & Internal Controls
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies
Maintain strong internal controls and financial security practices
Investigate and resolve discrepancies, audit findings, and compliance issues
Safeguard confidential financial information
Budgeting & Forecasting
Assist in budget preparation and ongoing financial forecasting
Monitor variances and support corrective financial planning
Additional Responsibilities
Stay current with industry trends and accounting best practices
Perform other financial and administrative duties as assigned
QualificationsÂ
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
CPA required.
5 years of progressive accounting experience required.
Experience in healthcare or other highly regulated environments, including leading audits and working with external auditors, preferred but not required.
Leadership experience required, including the ability to guide, support, and develop team members.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
Experience with accounting systems and financial software preferred, with the ability to analyze and manipulate large volumes of data.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Effective communication and leadership skills.
