Accounting Manager / Assistant ControllerLocation: Metro Detroit Area
A growing manufacturing company is seeking a hands on Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller to lead day to day accounting operations. This role is focused on financial reporting, month end close, and maintaining accurate and timely financials to support the business.
Key Responsibilities- Lead core accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
- Manage month end, quarter end, and year end close processes
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and supporting reports
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial data
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards
- Coordinate with external auditors and support audit processes
- Monitor cash flow and assist with financial planning
- Partner with leadership to provide clear financial insights
Qualifications- Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5 to 12 years of accounting or finance experience
- Strong hands on experience with month end close and financial reporting
- Experience in a manufacturing or inventory driven environment preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- CPA is a plus but not required
