The Role: Accounting Manager
We’re seeking an experienced, hands-on Accounting Manager with a background in small to mid-sized businesses and a strong track record in both day-to-day accounting and team leadership . This is a highly visible role reporting directly to the VP of Finance, perfect for someone who enjoys working across all levels of the company — from the shop floor to the C-suite.
What You’ll Do
+ Oversee A/P, A/R, Payroll , and general ledger activities
+ Manage month-end and year-end close with accurate and timely reporting
+ Lead and mentor a small accounting team (A/R clerks, A/P, staff accountant)
+ Support cost accounting and analyze manufacturing inventory/production variances
+ Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and manage cash flow
+ Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
+ Drive process improvements and increase efficiency
+ Coordinate with external auditors and support annual audit processes
+ Work closely with operations, plant management, and leadership on cross-functional financial initiatives
Who You Are
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
+ 5+ years of accounting experience , with 2+ years in a leadership role
+ Proven success in a hands-on role — you’re comfortable rolling up your sleeves
+ Experience working in a small to mid-sized company , preferably manufacturing
+ Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory, and ERP systems (Syteline a plus)
+ Syteline ERP system experience or similar ERP experience and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
+ Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
+ Able to work fully on-site , with occasional Saturday coverage (every 6-7 weeks from 7:00a-11:00a)
