Kforce has a client that is seeking an Accounting Manager in Annapolis, MD. Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations, ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, and support the organization's financial objectives. The Accounting Manager will supervise accounting staff, manage month end and year end close processes, maintain internal controls, and assist with budgeting, forecasting, and audit activities. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and payroll accounting
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies and procedures
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity
  • Assist with annual budget preparation, financial forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Coordinate and support external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to improve operational and financial performance
  • Develop, mentor, and manage accounting team members, including performance reviews and professional development
  • Collaborate with leadership to support strategic initiatives and business decision making
  • Assist with ERP implementations, system upgrades, and process improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Property Management Accounting experience
  • Multi-entity accounting experience
  • Full ownership of month-end close
  • Strong GAAP knowledge
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Journal entries
  • Financial statement preparation and review
  • Leadership or supervisory experience (formal or informal)
  • Strong Excel skills
  • ERP experience within Property Management
  • Ability to mentor and oversee outsourced accounting staff

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
