This role ensures compliance with internal policies and GAAP while partnering with leadership to support financial transparency and operational efficiency. Supervises core accounting processes and staff while contributing to audit readiness, budgeting support, and continuous process improvement.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAccounting OperationsManage daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activityEnsure accurate and timely completion of monthly close processes, including reconciliationsMaintain financial records and ensure adherence to established policies and proceduresSupport implementation and improvement of accounting systems and workflowsFinancial Reporting & CompliancePrepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reportsEnsure compliance with GAAP and applicable nonprofit and regulatory requirementsAssist in preparing schedules and documentation for annual auditsSupport grant accounting and ensure adherence to funding and reporting requirementsBudgeting & Analysis SupportAssist leadership with budget preparation and monitoringAnalyze financial results and provide variance explanationsSupport departmental financial tracking and reportingCash & ControlsAssist with cash management and monitoring of organizational financial activityHelp maintain internal control systems to safeguard assets and ensure complianceIdentify and recommend process improvements to strengthen financial controlsTeam Leadership & CollaborationSupervise and support accounting staff, providing guidance and professional developmentFoster a collaborative, detail-oriented, and accountable team environmentPartner cross-functionally with program and leadership teams to support financial needsPerform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORKThis is a full‑time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or hours vary with location. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.TRAVELTravel is primarily local during the business day, although some out‑of‑area and overnight travel may be expected.EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS AND REQUIRED EDUCATIONMust be at least 18 years of age.Must pass state and federal background checks, including fingerprints.Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5+ years of progressive accounting experienceStrong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting practicesExperience with financial reporting, reconciliations, and month‑end closeDemonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesResponsible work ethic with reliable attendance.Employees are expected to remain alert, attentive, and fully engaged in their responsibilities during all working hours.
