Responsibilities Providing direction and support to the accounting unit processesManaging the monthly close process including journal entries, reviews, and reconciliations of general ledger accountsProviding detailed analysis and reporting of expenses to the Finance/Accounting and other PFSCM UnitsIdentifying continuous improvement opportunities and directing and managing accounting administration within the Finance & Accounting TeamResponsible for team performance on key performance indicators and staff management, development, support, and coaching of Staff Accountants and accounting-related positionsReviewing trial balances on a monthly basis, investigating abnormalities, and providing resolution recommendations as necessaryReviewing project-based reconciliations for all bank accounts and asset and liability reconciliations, as well as accrued & accounts payable accountsServing as an approver for all accounting-related documents in the accounting systemMonitoring cash to GL balances and insurance charges regularlyPreparing and reviewing bank receipt vouchers to match incoming wire transfers and transfers between bank accountsLeading financial audits, including preparing various audit schedulesPreparing Form 990 and submissionMaintaining document retention in accordance with PFSCM policies and proceduresDeveloping, maintaining, and managing standard operating procedures and work instructions, including continuous improvement reviews and updatesDeveloping and maintaining an onboarding training program and regular refresher training for internal teams, new hires, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on processes and SOPsPerforming additional duties as necessary to increase team capacity and maintain performanceRequirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other relevant field requiredCPA is required8+ years' of accounting experience, including using a computerized accounting systemExperience with international donor agencies or government is a plusStrong action management, including the ability to manage projects in the most cost-efficient manner, resourcefulness, initiative, maturity of judgment, and the ability to make sound decisions under pressing conditionsAdvanced computing skills in standard software systems, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ProjectWillingness and availability to travel and perform other duties as neededMust be eligible to work in the United States.Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills with strong sense of customer serviceEnglish fluency required, including speaking, writing, understanding, and readingExperience successfully managing external relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders in multi-cultural environments and in diverse locations internationally, including governments and the donor community.Demonstrated analytical skills; solution-oriented with a high sense of quality, attention to detail, accuracy, efficiency, and meeting tight deadlines.Previous client relations or customer service experience required.Experience with continuous improvement initiatives and change management activities.#J-18808-Ljbffr
