SummaryRedwire Space, Inc. has a current opportunity for an Accounting Intern at our facility in Jacksonville, Florida . In this role you will get exposure to the accounting side of payroll by supporting some of the regular payroll functions that maintain compliance, regulations and policies. Work assignments are received from a professional supervisor who defines the scope of the work to be performed.ResponsibilitiesExposure to payroll weekly processes “end-to-end”Preparation of payroll general ledger account reconciliationsPreparation of correcting payroll journal entriesAssists Payroll team with month end close journal entriesLearn to run weekly reports in Paycor payroll moduleOther daily duties include but are not limited to assisting the finance and payroll team in performing various duties including daily operations, research, and maintaining records. This shall include scanning, emailing, and organizing documents for record keeping.Ideal ExperienceA rising junior or higher is currently enrolled in a 4-year accredited university and pursuing a degree in accounting or financeIntermediate Microsoft Excel knowledgeKnowledgeable in basic accounting principlesDesired SkillsPassionate about accounting and have a high level of energy, a drive to work in a team/collaborative environment and a desire to excel in all aspects of your workWe are looking for candidates who strive for excellence in all aspects of their college or university experience as demonstrated by the results of their coursework, projects, lab work, workshops, internships and other collegiate activities.
