The Accounting/HR Manager will prepare financial reports, budgets, and tax reports. Write fiscal policies and assist with personnel policies. Will be responsible for overseeing job duties of the accounts receivable and accounts payable/personnel staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in accounting with 2+ years of experience. Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures. Excellent problem-solving skills and effective communication skills. Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Duties:
1. Prepare and post monthly general ledger entries and perform monthly closing activities.
2. Review general ledger accounts for accuracy and any discrepancies and prepare adjusting entries for any corrections.
3. Prepare trial balance and financial statements.
4. Prepare cost allocation and distributions annually.
5. Prepare annual budget.
6. Oversee payroll taxes and quarterly tax returns. Prepare year end W-2’s, 1099’s, and any other required tax forms.
7. Oversee and assist in processing accounts payable functions, including reconciling accounts, monitoring normal operating expenditures and significant purchases.
8. Oversee and assist in processing payroll, review payroll before distributing.
9. Oversee accounts receivable functions, including reconciling accounts, monitoring income and timely payments and all adjustments.
10. Prepare monthly contract billings for MCO’s, ASO’s, and various county and state contracts.
11. Assist Director in negotiating rates with MCO’s, ASO’s, and private insurance companies and finalizing contracts with them.
12. Prepare and assist in preparation of necessary job descriptions, policies and procedures to ensure proper personnel management and fiscal administration.
13. Assist management with all personnel issues that may arise, research issues and communicate with our lawyer to help resolve issues.
14. Research, review, and assist Director in purchasing agency liability and employee benefit insurance.
15. Manage employee retirement plans.
16. Assist auditors in preparation of Annual Report to the Board of Directors.
17. Assist in the management of the agency Washington Administrative Codes (WAC) manuals.
18. Review and upgrade computerized accounting system when necessary.
19. Any additional duties assigned by the Executive Director.
