As we continue to build a team that drives us forward, we are excited to announce the opening for an Accounting Director leading the External Reporting, Forecast and FP&A functions.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE          

The Accounting Director plays a critical, highly visible role in shaping the company’s financial story and supporting strategic decision-making across the organization. This leader will provide strategic oversight of GAAP financial statements, forecasts, and complex financial analysis, while partnering closely with senior accounting leadership, treasury, and executive stakeholders among other departments.

 

In this role, you will collaborate directly with the Corporate Controller and senior leaders to deliver accurate, insightful financial reporting for the Board of Directors and national leadership forums. You’ll leverage a deep understanding of the business to support GAAP considerations, special projects, and strategic initiatives, including competitive intelligence, investments, and M&A activity.

 

The Accounting Director is also a key contributor to performance measurement and industry analysis within the car rental, fleet services, car sales and other mobility spaces. Beyond technical expertise, this role offers the opportunity to develop and mentor talent, influence department strategy, and help drive the long-term growth and success of the organization. This position is located at our Corporate Headquarters in Clayton, MO.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Reporting & GAAP Compliance

  • Manage the completion of quarterly and annual GAAP financial statements, including the external audit, in partnership with the other accounting senior leaders to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards
  • Leverage a strong understanding of the business for GAAP statement considerations to support accounting senior leadership on special projects and other analysis related to the company’s financial GAAP statements

Leadership Communication & Executive Support

  • Collaborate with the Corporate Controller on presentations and reports for the Board of Directors and other senior leadership and national meetings to ensure accurate information and demonstrate creative thinking
  • Serve as a visible leader across department initiatives, partnering with the Corporate Controller and Corporate Accounting leadership team to drive alignment and results

Strategic Finance & FP&A Partnership

  • Support FP&A and become a key resource on various initiatives such as competitive research and analysis and bring transparency of industry dynamics to senior leaders
  • Collaborate with various members of senior leadership, Treasury, and other corporate departments to ensure various forecast processes are aligned with the capital needs of the business

Corporate Development & Strategic Initiatives

  • Collaborate with Corporate Development and lead the FP&A team with analyzing and assessing strategic opportunities, including unique needs across the mobility space, certain investments, and M&A activities such as valuation/returns, financial due diligence, and financial integration to ensure compliance with accounting standards 

Team Leadership & Department Strategy

  • Develop short-term and long-term strategic goals, priorities, and initiatives of the department, including development of direct reports and team members, to support continued growth

Qualifications

Required

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Must have a minimum of 12 years of external reporting, budgeting, or forecasting and financial analysis experience
  • Must have a minimum of 6 years of leadership experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future

Preferred

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • 15+ years of external reporting, budgeting, or forecasting and financial analysis experience
