The Accounting Data Clerk plays a critical role in maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial data across the organization. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this position is responsible for processing, verifying, and reconciling financial records using advanced tools such as QuickBooks, SAP NetWeaver AS, and Microsoft Excel. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards by performing regular reconciliations, managing payroll data, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. With a strong analytical mindset and proficiency in data manipulation techniques—including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and macros—this role supports financial reporting, audit readiness, and operational efficiency. The Accounting Data Clerk is a key contributor to the accuracy of financial statements and the overall health of the organization’s accounting function.



Responsibilities

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly account reconciliations across general ledger accounts, bank statements, and vendor/customer ledgers.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using QuickBooks and SAP NetWeaver AS, ensuring data integrity and compliance with accounting policies.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports using Microsoft Excel, leveraging advanced functions such as VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and macros to automate data processing.
  • Support payroll processing by verifying employee hours, benefits, deductions, and tax withholdings; ensure timely and accurate disbursement of wages.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entry preparation, account analysis, and reconciliation documentation.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data, escalating complex issues to senior accounting staff as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, validate, and input financial data for budgeting, forecasting, and audit purposes.
  • Maintain confidential financial information in accordance with data privacy and internal control standards.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and proposing automation or workflow enhancements.

Requirements


  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of ${Experience} years of experience in accounting, data entry, or financial operations.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks (Online or Desktop) with demonstrated experience in general ledger management and reporting.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP NetWeaver AS for financial data processing and reporting.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and macro creation (VBA experience a plus).
  • Experience with payroll processing, including tax calculations, deductions, and compliance with federal/state regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform detailed reconciliations and analyze financial data for accuracy and consistency.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
