Accounting Clerk

We are currently recruiting on an accounting clerk job opening for a client’s growing finance department. This position is starting on a temporary basis with the potential to convert to a full-time permanent job in the near future. This position is fully onsite in-office 5days per week. Starting pay is $25-30/hr.

We are looking for a highly motivated junior staff accountant to join our US Finance team. The ideal candidate will support the accounting & finance department by performing day-to-day accounting tasks, assisting with financial reporting, and ensuring accuracy in financial records. This position will require you to have a broad understanding of basic accounting principles, great attention to detail, strong sense of urgency, and excellent communication skills.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Record and reconcile daily cash transactions across multiple bank accounts
  • Process and record employee T&E expenses, ensuring proper coding and ledger reconciliation
  • Monitor, process, and accurately post AP card expenses to appropriate GL accounts
  • Record various journal entries and assist in maintaining the general ledger
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
  • Prepare financial reports and schedules as needed
  • Assist with audit preparation and documentation requests
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
  • Maintain organized financial records and documentation
  • Assist in other accounting projects which includes cross collaboration with other teams in the Finance Department and help evolving our processes
  • Manage workload efficiently by organizing, prioritizing, and executing tasks in a timely and high-quality manner
  • Represent the Finance team with professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to excellence
  • Assist accounting & finance team with ad hoc responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business or related field
  • Able to commute into the NYC office 5days per week.
  • 2-3 years of accounting/finance experience, internships strongly preferred.
