Accounting Clerk

Accounting Clerk
The Accounting Clerk is responsible for supporting daily accounting operations with an emphasis on accounts payable processing and accurate journal entry preparation. This role ensures timely invoice processing, maintains organized financial records, and assists with general ledger activities to support month-end and year-end close.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process high-volume accounts payable transactions, including invoice review, coding, and data entry
- Match purchase orders, invoices, and receipts; resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Prepare and post journal entries with accuracy and proper documentation
- Maintain and reconcile vendor accounts and assist with payment processing (checks, ACH, etc.)
- Support month-end close by ensuring all AP and journal entries are recorded accurately
- Assist with account reconciliations and financial recordkeeping
- Communicate with vendors and internal teams to address questions or issues
Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and general ledger processes
- Experience with accounts payable and journal entries required
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
