Compensation: $45,000 - $50,000 Annually (plus a $1,000 signing bonus after 90 days of employment)
Job Summary
We are seeking a versatile, organized, and detail-oriented Accounting Associate to join a small, collaborative office team of 8 people. In this role, you will handle various aspects of transaction entry for multiple corporate entities, ensuring the total accuracy of financial records through Trial Balance and Financial Statements. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking individual with strong technical and analytical skills who thrives when multitasking under minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
Invoice Processing: Review, code, and accurately enter or import vendor invoices.
Reconciliation: Process payments, handle monthly balancing, and reconcile intercompany expenses (non-procurement related).
Freight & Credit Cards: Research, input, and balance freight invoices (Billing, A/P, P/O) and manage credit card transactions across multiple entities.
Compliance: Handle new vendor setup, review W-9 forms, and oversee the timely issuance of 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC forms.
Payroll Support
Processing Assistance: Gather and track employee time, process time-off requests, and assist with earnings and deductions processing.
Account Analysis: Perform detailed account analysis and timely reconciliations for bi-weekly payroll runs.
Accounts Receivable & General Ledger
Cash Application: Post daily cash activity from various sources to customer accounts and analyze variations as required.
GL Analysis: Perform thorough account analysis for assigned accounts, proactively researching transactions and solving discrepancies.
Administrative
Qualifications & Skills
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience working as an Accountant or Accounting Clerk.
Software: Experience working within an accounting ERP system is required; Sage 100 experience is a major plus.
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader Office suite; solid business and mathematical aptitude.
Communication: Professional verbal and written communication skills with a team-oriented mindset.
