The Accounting and Compliance Associate is responsible for managing the revenue process, performing accounting duties, and supporting the compliance function. The revenue process includes generating invoices, applying cash, reconciling accounts, and managing collections. The accounting process includes processing vendor invoices, recording payments and receipts, and preparing reports. The compliance process includes assisting with regulatory filings, licensing, certifications, tax filings, and data calls. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, and handle confidential information responsibly.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and issue invoices to customers in a timely manner.
  • Apply customer payments to accounts receivable.
  • Review and reconcile billing discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
  • Analyze billing data and provide reports to management.
  • Record vendor payments and disbursements.
  • Respond to customer and vendor inquiries regarding billing and payment issues.
  • Support preparation of journal entries as required.
  • Maintain compliance files, logs, and databases.
  • Provide administrative support for regulatory, compliance and financial filings.
  • Draft correspondence with state agencies as required.
  • Submit digital and physical regulatory and compliance filings.
  • Handle incoming mail for distribution to appropriate department.
  • Assist Accounting and Compliance functions as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor''s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, or financial analysis.
  • Working knowledge of applicable personal computing technologies, including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Power PDF
  • Experience with billing software and ERP systems is a plus.
  • Notary credentials is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
