Position Overview
Our client, located in Essex County, NJ is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Accounting Assistant to support accounting operations. This role is ideal for someone looking for a flexible, part-time schedule while contributing to key financial processes in a collaborative office environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and send weekly client invoices.
- Perform weekly cash reconciliations.
- Send collection notices and follow up with clients on past-due balances.
- Process and manage accounts payable vendor bills.
- Maintain accurate financial records within QuickBooks.
- Provide general accounting and administrative support as needed.
Qualifications
- Prior experience using QuickBooks required.
- Experience with invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and reconciliations.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working independently in a small office setting.
- Strong communication skills for client collections follow-up.
Schedule & Work Environment
- 2–3 days per week in the office (flexible scheduling Monday–Thursday).
- Office operates remotely on Fridays.
- Start time flexible between 9:00–9:30 AM.
- End time flexible between 5:00–5:30 PM.
- Employer willing to accommodate preferred in-office days.
