Requirements:

  • Maintain a professional attitude and positive working relationship with staff, vendors, volunteers, and the public.
  • Serve as a member of the Accounting Team. Attend Accounting Team Meetings (ATM) and Administrative Office Meetings (AOM) as requested.
  • Prepare deposit for cash or checks received from the Office Assistant. Submit to the Executive Director or designee for deposit and enter cash receipt in the accounting system.
  • Prepare journal entries and enter them into the accounting software. Enter other general ledger transactions into the accounting software.
  • Responsible for working with staff to ensure accurate and timely recording of fiscal data relevant to duties.
  • Responsible for completing monthly reporting for reimbursement and submitting to Fiscal Officer for approval and submission. Assist in pulling backup documentation for grant reporting, audits and/or monitors, as needed.
  • Record and maintain current property inventory by conducting annual property checks at all sites or as needed.
  • Responsible for ensuring all appraisals on property are up to date.
  • Assist in obtaining, documenting, and reporting In-Kind activities and donations. Prepare journal entries to record In-Kind in general ledger.
  • Assist with budget process, as needed. Assist with entering approved budgets in accounting software.
  • Assist with internal audits of agency departments.
  • Assist with both the informal quote and competitive bid processes when necessary.
  • Responsible for data management relevant to accounting duties.
  • Participate as an active member in implementing ROMA.
  • Responsible for avoidance or appearance of fraud and ensuring compliance in the overall management of accounting areas.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of college/trade school preferred.
  • Two years of accounting experience.
  • Two years of job-related experience with accounting software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Non-profit or governmental accounting a plus.

PhysicalRequirements:

  • Must pass tuberculosis screening annually and initial health examination within first three months of employment.
  • Valid driver’s license, access to transportation with liability insurance and willingness to use vehicle for Agency related travel.
  • Able to travel out of area overnight to attend or conduct training or make on-site visits.
  • Able to hear and communicate orally.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance and peripheral
  • vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Skill Requirements

  • Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations.
