Position Overview
A full-time temporary opportunity is available for an Analyst II Accounting role supporting financial operations within a higher education administrative environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to support reporting, reconciliation, and process improvement initiatives.
This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and contribute to improving financial processes and reporting accuracy.
Key Responsibilities- Apply fundamental accounting principles to support daily financial operations and reporting.
- Maintain, analyze, and reconcile financial data, records, and reports with a high level of accuracy.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite and other financial systems to create reports, analyze data, and maintain records.
- Identify discrepancies, troubleshoot issues, and resolve accounting and data-related problems.
- Support process improvement efforts by recommending efficient and effective accounting practices.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance in all financial documentation and reporting activities.
- Collaborate with internal departments to support operational and financial needs.
- Maintain organized records and ensure timely completion of assigned deliverables.
Required Qualifications- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field AND at least 5 years of relevant experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify and recommend process improvements and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience working with PeopleSoft financial systems.
- Previous experience in a higher education or public sector accounting environment.
