Position Overview
A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This role will support core accounting functions including job costing, general ledger activity, and balance sheet management. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, experience working within a manufacturing environment, and the ability to communicate effectively across departments.
This position offers the opportunity to gain exposure to operational accounting processes while contributing to accurate financial reporting and supporting the month-end close process.
Key Responsibilities
Perform job costing analysis to track project and production costs and ensure accurate cost allocation
Prepare and post journal entries and assist with the month-end close process
Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
Prepare bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies as needed
Assist in preparing and reviewing trial balances and supporting schedules
Support the preparation of financial reports and internal management reporting
Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and recommend corrections
Collaborate with operations and production teams to ensure accurate cost tracking
Assist with internal and external audits by preparing supporting documentation
Contribute to process improvements that enhance accuracy and efficiency within the accounting function
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
2–3 years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment
Exposure to job costing or cost accounting concepts
Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and balance sheet reconciliations
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting/ERP systems
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Comfortable communicating with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with manufacturing or production-based accounting systems
Exposure to inventory or cost accounting processes
