Job Description

We are seeking an Accountant - GCD Content Licensing to manage accounting functions for GCD content licensing contracts. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in revenue recognition, contract analysis, subsystem reconciliations, and general ledger close and a proven ability to execute month/quarter close, interpret complex licensing terms, and deliver accurate reporting and audit support.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and report on GCD license agreements, including fee calculations and payment terms per contracts.
  • Complete month-end and quarter-end close, including revenue recognition and trial balance reconciliations.
  • Analyze and explain monthly foreign exchange variances.
  • Compare actuals versus forecast and plan, and prepare variance analyses.
  • Perform present value analyses and reporting for applicable deals.
  • Prepare intercompany and related-party reporting and analysis.
  • Perform quarterly bad debt analysis and monthly clearing account/BITIN cash reconciliations.
  • Track and report revenue share agreements.
  • Support GAAP/statutory audits and internal controls testing; ensure SOX compliance.
  • Create and post journal entries to the general ledger.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports and analyses; work overtime as needed.

Subsystem and General Ledger Responsibilities:

  • Review new contracts and change orders in PRISM to validate financial data entered by Deal Management.
  • Review PRISM-generated accounting transactions for accuracy in monthly reporting.
  • Maintain Pay TV expression deals in PRISM, including subscriber updates, issue resolution, and coordination with IT for new deal setup and testing.
  • Perform revenue reviews and analyses, including stagger, non-delivery, straight-line of DSTAR revenues, renewals, and cash in advance.
  • Manage non-GCD items: entitlements (journal entries, reconciliation, reporting), non-theatrical (TDS) reconciliation and reporting, and TREC invoicing and aging.

Systems Environment:

  • Accounting subsystems: TVR (CBS legacy), PRISM/PPC, COGNOS reporting, TREC.
  • General ledgers: SAP (PPC legacy) with BW and SmartView in Excel, Oracle (CBS legacy), Oracle Fusion (future state).

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3-6 years of accounting experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and Word.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • CPA or progress toward certification.
  • Entertainment industry experience.
  • Experience with PRISM, TVR, COGNOS, SAP, Oracle, BW, SmartView, and TREC.
  • Experience supporting SOX controls and external audits.
