Accountant – Manufacturing
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our manufacturing team. This role will support general accounting functions with a strong focus on inventory, cost accounting, and operational reporting. The ideal candidate has experience in a manufacturing environment and understands how accounting impacts production and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and post journal entries, including inventory and cost-related entries
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including inventory, WIP, and fixed assets
Support cost accounting functions, including standard costing and variance analysis
Analyze material, labor, and overhead variances
Assist with inventory cycle counts and annual physical inventory
Maintain accuracy of the general ledger and manufacturing sub-ledgers
Support budgeting and forecasting processes
Prepare financial reports and provide analysis to operations leadership
Assist with audit preparation and ensure compliance with internal controls and GAAP
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing
Understanding of cost accounting, inventory controls, and production processes
Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, JD Edwards, etc.)
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work cross-functionally with operations and supply chain teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with standard costing and bill of materials (BOM)
Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives
CPA or CMA designation (or pursuing) is a plus
