Overview:
Northwest Permanente is seeking an Accountant 1 team member to join our Accounting department for a temporary assignment. The Accountant I prepares and enters journal entries to the general ledger to help ensure accurate, timely, and properly coded financial transactions in support of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close. This position supports the Controller, Accounting Manager and other staff with various accounting functions and analyses and has the primary responsibility for maintenance of files and documentation to support accounting transactions. This is a temporary, non-benefited role with a projected 9-10 month duration.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assists with timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
Contributes to oversight of the recharge process including management of individual agreements.
Assists with bi-weekly review of reimbursement requests for licensing and continuing medical education expenses.
Oversees corporate card management and maintenance.
Supports the Finance department with budgeting questions and analysis.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related discipline or equivalent educational/professional experience.
Minimum one (1) year of accounting or finance experience. Three (3) years’ experience in accounting or finance preferred.
Knowledge of inter-entity accounting, include usage of Due To/Due From accounts.
Demonstrated experience in a computer-based accounting system.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
