Position Overview

At Rehrig Pacific, our customers are at the center of everything we do. We are seeking an experienced Account Specialist to serve as the primary point of contact for our customers across our vertical businesses—Beverage, Emerging, Environmental, and Perishables.

In this role, you’ll manage customer accounts end-to-end, ensuring accuracy, communication, and a seamless order experience. You’ll work closely with Sales, Production, Inventory Control, Scheduling, Shipping, Logistics, Finance, and Plant teams to support highly complex small- to medium-sized accounts while helping drive scalability, retention, and customer satisfaction.

Key Accountabilities

Customer Focus

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts
  • Set up, maintain, and update customer files and account records
  • Process customer orders received directly or through Sales Representatives
  • Lead all post-sale activities, allowing Sales to focus on growth
  • Communicate proactively with customers regarding order status, pricing, changes, confirmations, and concerns
  • Expedite, track, and analyze customer scheduling requirements to ensure expectations are met

Collaboration & Teamwork

  • Partner with Sales, Account Specialists, and internal teams to meet customer deliverables
  • Work closely with Plant Managers to prepare customer reports and resolve product challenges
  • Support Sales in understanding customer order prioritization
  • Coordinate with Scheduling and Logistics to ensure accurate and timely deliveries
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Customer Service Manager

Driving Results

  • Monitor aging inventory reports and collaborate with Sales and customers on 90-day inventory resolution
  • Provide monthly forecasting data to support capacity planning, cost management, and efficiency improvements
  • Track manufacturing reports and keep customers informed throughout the production cycle
  • Represent Sales in addressing operational issues and solutions at customer sites
  • Serve as the voice of the customer, escalating insights and recommendations as needed
  • Process customer RFQs for units and parts within company guidelines
  • Own customer service inquiries from start to finish to drive retention and new opportunities

Decision-Making & Problem Solving

  • Initiate corrective actions for customer complaints and service issues
  • Balance daily order activity and resolve discrepancies
  • Review and process orders and changes for pricing, part numbers, revisions, shipping requirements, and accuracy
  • Determine ship dates to initiate material flow and production cycles
  • Review warranties and submit warranty claims
  • Apply creative problem-solving solutions that meet both customer and business needs

Adaptability

  • Optimize shipment loads and manage incoming EDI orders
  • Document freight issues and report customer lead-time violations
  • Communicate potential service risks, disputes, or opportunities to Sales and Customer Service leadership immediately

General Responsibilities

  • Assist Plant Managers with customer product challenges and warehouse efficiency needs
  • Build strong relationships and rapport with customers and internal partners
  • Utilize Salesforce and JD Edwards (ERP) daily
  • Manage follow-ups to ensure deadlines and commitments are met
  • Maintain accurate customer records, correspondence, and reports
  • Champion Rehrig Pacific’s core values through collaboration, integrity, and accountability

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
  • 5+ years of customer service experience
  • Strong interpersonal, written, verbal, and multi-tasking skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Salesforce
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize effectively, and see the bigger picture
  • Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and organizational skills
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and production environments
  • Action-oriented, trustworthy, positive, and supportive mindset

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to travel 10–20%, including air travel
  • Ability to lift product samples (crates, trays, pallets, etc.) as needed
