ACCOUNT REPRESENTATIVE
Position Type: Direct Hire
Location: Greater Detroit Area – office could be Canton/Romulus/Taylor
Salary: $65K-$70k base w/$10K Annual Bonus / Vehicle Allowance of $600.00/month – plus expenses
Position Summary
Our client is seeking an Account Representative to support and grow customer relationships across Michigan operations. This role will serve as the primary liaison between customers and internal operations teams while identifying opportunities for growth, service improvements, and operational support.
The ideal candidate will have strong relationship-building skills, automotive industry experience, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced logistics and warehousing environment.
Role Purpose
Establish a dedicated, regionally focused Account Representative to support Michigan-based operations through on-site engagement, account analysis, and growth identification.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct quarterly on-site customer visits across all Michigan locations
- Serve as the primary liaison between customers and operations
Analyze:
- Organic growth opportunities / Volume changes
- Scope expansions / Tier 1 and Tier 2 support needs / Support escalation management and continuous improvement initiatives
Partner with Operations, Quality, and Finance to:
- Identify service gaps
- Propose value-added solutions
- Improve customer retention / Support launch of new programs or expansions at Michigan sites
Value to the Business
- Strengthens customer relationships through face-to-face engagement
- Improves visibility into site-level opportunities and risks
- Enables faster response to customer needs
Requirements
- Automotive industry experience preferred
- 2+ years of experience in account management, customer service, operations support, or business development
- Strong relationship-building and customer communication skills
- Ability to analyze customer needs and identify growth opportunities
- Experience supporting multiple customer accounts and locations
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and follow-up skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, and Finance teams
- Experience handling customer escalations and issue resolution
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Professional presentation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced automotive environment
- Requires local travel to customer sites throughout Michigan
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
- Understanding of warehousing, sequencing, logistics, or supply chain operations preferred
- Experience supporting Tier 1 and Tier 2 automotive customers is a plus
