Looking for an account representative to handle the billing and ambulance claims processing to Medicare, Medicaid, Private Insurance and patients. To ensure good customer service and to maintain quality relations with existing accounts. The account representative will be expected to answer telephones, assist in the day to day office operations of the company and any other duties that may be assigned by the office manager or the director.

 

This is a temp position with potential to transition to a full-time position.

 

Knowledge and Skills Required

1. Typing and the use of computers and other office equipment is essential.

2. Good working knowledge of the requirements of Medicare and Medicaid.

3. Proper English grammar and the ability to handle correspondence clearly and correctly.

4. Ability to present a calm and professional demeanor to everyone.

5. Ability to remain calm in stressful, tense or emotional situations.

6. Ability to speak in a clear voice and the ability to take information quickly over the telephone.

7. Understanding HIPPA guidelines and functioning within these guidelines.

8. Complete confidentiality with patient and employee information.

9. Ability to screen calls to route them to the correct person in the company.

 

Minimum Performance Requirements:

 

1. Education: Four-year high school diploma or equivalent

2. Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in a medical billing environment.

3. Mental Demands: Exacting. Must be able to determine what are appropriate billing decisions with regard to Medicare and Medicaid and private insurance.

4. Impact of Decisions: Errors can affect company's ability to complete the billing process.

 

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary work, lifting 20 pounds maximum. Occasionally lifting and/or carrying articles such as binders and boxes. Lifting, talking, hearing, reaching, handling, feeling, and seeing.
