Job Title: Account Manager, Sales – Workforce1 Career Centers (Bronx: Fordham & Hunts Point)

Reports To: Business Services Manager

Location: Bronx, NY (Fordham Hub & Hunts Point Satellite)

Travel Required: Yes – throughout the five boroughs of New York City

 
Position Overview

The Sales Account Manager is responsible for business development and employer engagement on behalf of the Workforce1 Career Centers. This position focuses on building and maintaining strong relationships with employers across New York City to identify hiring needs, promote Workforce1 services, and connect businesses with qualified candidates.

The ideal candidate is a natural networker who thrives on relationship-building, understands local labor market trends, and is passionate about helping employers meet their workforce needs while creating opportunities for jobseekers.

 
Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Employer Engagement

Conduct proactive outreach to employers, industry associations, and local businesses to identify hiring needs and promote Workforce1 services.
Develop and maintain long-term partnerships with employers to drive repeat business and ongoing collaboration.
Conduct labor market research to identify trends, new business openings, and in-demand occupations across the five boroughs.
Attend networking events, business expos, and community meetings to represent Workforce1 and build employer relationships.
Maintain an up-to-date database of employer accounts and contacts within internal systems (e.g., Dynamics).
Partnership & Collaboration

Collaborate closely with the Recruitment and Career Services teams to ensure that employer job orders are filled with qualified candidates.
Communicate employer hiring requirements clearly to the Recruitment team and monitor progress toward fulfillment.
Partner with community-based organizations, chambers of commerce, and business improvement districts (BIDs) to expand employer outreach.
Performance & Reporting

Meet or exceed monthly employer engagement and job order targets as set by SBS and internal management.
Track and report all employer interactions, job orders, and placements in compliance with Workforce1 and SBS guidelines.
Analyze data and labor market information to inform outreach strategies and identify new business opportunities.
 
Qualifications

Business sales, relationship building  or a related field preferred (or equivalent relevant experience).
Minimum 3 years of experience in business development, sales, employer engagement, or workforce development.
Strong understanding of labor market dynamics, employer needs, and NYC’s business ecosystem.
Excellent communication, networking, and relationship management skills.
Proven ability to meet goals and deliver results in a performance-driven environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and CRM systems (Dynamics experience preferred).
Willingness and ability to travel throughout New York City for employer visits and events.
 
Work Environment

This position operates in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment requiring collaboration across multiple teams. The role supports both the Fordham (Hub) and Hunts Point Workforce1 Career Centers, with frequent travel across all five boroughs for employer meetings, events, and business development activities.
