The Key Account Manager works to improve MCC Label's market position and achieve financial growth. This position is the lead day-to-day customer contact and continuously defines long-term organizational strategic goals, builds key customer relationships, identifies business opportunities, negotiates and closes business deals and maintains extensive knowledge of current market conditions. The Key Account Manager focuses on three main areas: Client Retention, Account Planning, and Account Administration. This role is highly collaborative as it requires interaction with mid-and-senior management, marketing, and technical staff.Account ManagerClient Retention
Lead day-to-day commercial contact for assigned accounts across procurement, R&D, and brand teamsBuild deep, multi-level relationships with decision-makers and influencers to identify growth targets and protect shareManage customer expectations and offer clear communication around timing and capacity; flag issues early and drive them to resolutionRun point on quality issues, trials, and escalations, pulling in the right internal teams to thoroughly solveServe as the voice of the customer inside MCC, and represent MCC in customer touchpoints and quarterly business reviews
Account Planning
Own and execute the account plan, bringing customer and MCC priorities into alignmentManage revenue and growth targets and continuously seek out efficiency opportunities to improve profitabilityWork with pricing, operations, and supply chain to model capacity, substrate supply, and multi-plant allocationKeep in tune with active supply agreements; lead pricing and volume discussions supporting contract renewalsGrow the account through new and incremental volume, seeking out opportunities to sell in MCC-innovation and earn share from competitorsTrack substrate and inventory positions, and monitor market and competitor activity that affects the account
Administrative
Drive open action items, project milestones, and onboarding checklists to completionKeep account records and CRM current: price lists, POs, forecasts, trial reports, specsManage aged-inventory review and drawdown against monthly targetsForecast and track account metrics; prepare account status reports for leadershipWrite clean customer-facing recaps and internal reportsPartner with customer service and scheduling on open-order reports and prioritization
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience5+ years in account management or sales, ideally in labels, packaging, print, or CPG manufacturingTrack record managing large, multi-stakeholder accounts across sales, operations, quality, and supply chainSolid commercial footing with pricing, quoting, forecasting, and negotiationStrong writer and communicator, comfortable handling sensitive customer conversationsMicrosoft 365, Salesforce, and savvy incorporating A.I. into workflowBeverage packaging or label print knowledge (roll-fed, PS, shrink sleeve, cut & stack) a strong plusAble to travel for customer visits, plant tours, trials, and business reviews (25%)
