Job Summary
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Location: 14035 Industrial Rd., Houston, TX 77015
Salary Range: 60,000 - 63,000 per year
Account Managers of Operations oversee daily account transactions and serve as the primary point of contact between clients and internal teams to ensure accurate communication and smooth operational flow. Core responsibilities include managing shipment documentation, maintaining inventory visibility, and supporting operational and financial decision making. The role also includes resolving issues promptly, safeguarding account confidentiality, and adapting to shifting priorities in a fast paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Facilitate and coordinate the daily transactions requested by our accounts
- Develop and maintain clear communication with each account to understand their needs, directions and special requirements. Consistently strive to exceed the expectations of your accounts
- Prepare documents for inbound entry into GPIT TOS(s) & provide to Customer Service Representative
- Decision making responsibility regarding operations and financial regarding that vessel
- Review account releases for outbound shipment entry into GPIT TOS(s)
- Generate spreadsheet reports, if needed
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of accounts' current on hand inventories
- Review account complaints and where appropriate, develop and respond with both cause and corrective action
- Work in conjunction with GPIT Sales Team to provide the primary link between the account and Watco in answering questions, resolving difficulties and communication business status
- Maintain confidentiality with all accounts
- Possess a thorough understanding of the terminals' operating capabilities and processes
- Maintain communication with external accounts & internal stake holders (ops, billing, leadership, etc.)
- Other duties as needed
Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to collect, track, and analyze substantial amounts of data
- Strategic problem-solving abilities
- Effective at motivating and leading account executives
- Collaborates closely with internal departments to support client needs
- Addressing and resolving client concerns with professionalism
- Build relationships with clients and peers to ensure transactions are managed with a high level of customer service
- Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC card
Education
Must be 18 years of age or older with High School or GED equivalent
