    The Account Clerk performs a variety of clerical and accounting work in processing school expenditures and purchase orders. Performs job related duties as assigned.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Processes invoices, requisitions, and receipts for funds as assigned.
    • Performs financial record keeping duties; maintains accuracy of files and accounts.
    • Verifies proper budget codes for account payable transactions.
    • Prepares manual warrants upon request or approval by supervisors. Follows up with inputting data into accounting system.
    • Reconciles vendor accounts and statements.
    • Analyze problems accounts to facilitate payments.
    • Prepares documents, budget, and financial reports.
    • Coordinates flow of documentation to and through Accounts Payable.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Two years of experience in accounting and payment systems including working with automated systems.
    • Experience in an accounts payable office in a school district is desirable.
    • Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and business machines.
    • Ability to apply and adapt established methods to a variety of accounting/payment transactions and problems.
    • Ability to plan and schedule accounting/payment procedures and activities.
    • Ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision.
