St. Ambrose University is seeking an Academic Technology Specialist to support the University's Learning Management System and broader educational technology ecosystem, helping faculty, staff, and students effectively use digital tools to enhance learning across online, hybrid, and in-person environments. This role combines technical support, training, and collaboration to strengthen technology-enhanced education and student success.
Key Responsibilities:
LMS & Technology Support
Troubleshoot and support LMS use across all modalities (online, hybrid, synchronous, asynchronous)
Support assessment tools, rubrics, and course integrations within the LMS
Identify and promote tools and extensions that enhance teaching and learning
Educational Technology Implementation
Support tools and integrations (LTIs, SCORM, xAPI) within the LMS
Assist faculty using platforms such as Cengage, Genially, Canva, AppsAnywhere, iSpring, GoReact, and Respondus
Pilot emerging tools including AI, engagement platforms, and data visualization solutions
Help ensure course accessibility and alignment with WCAG 2.1 standards
Faculty Collaboration & Training
Partner with faculty and instructional designers to integrate effective technologies
Provide workshops, tutorials, and one-on-one training for faculty, staff, and students
Promote digital fluency, experimentation, and best practices in educational technology
Collaborate with IT and academic departments to implement and scale new tools
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree with relevant experience
Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards
Experience with LMS platforms such as Blackboard or D2L Brightspace
Familiarity with web, media, and instructional technology tools (Microsoft 365, video, graphics)
Understanding of AI-enabled educational tools
Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field
Experience with assistive technologies and accessibility tools
Experience implementing AI tools (chatbots, automated feedback, adaptive learning platforms)
