Job Summary
Responsible for the daily operation of the respective Tutoring Center: Writing Center. Collaborate with peers on each campus to provide academic support for students in the form of tutoring. Responsible for assessing and responding to the academic needs of faculty and students. Provides assessment to the college.
Essential Duties
Provide one-on-one tutoring for students.
Coordinate daily operations of the Tutoring Center.
Collaborate with other Academic Lab Coordinators, the faculty coordinator, the Associate Dean and other faculty to develop and implement consistent procedures, long-term goals, and effective programming.
Create and update student resources, including the Tutoring Center website, handouts, and other helpful resources.
Hire, supervise, and approve time for part time Tutoring Center staff.
Implement training for tutors and staff.
Design and implement workshops and other events for students, faculty, and staff.
Track and report usage numbers for assessment of the Tutoring Center.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in the related curricula area (Liberal Arts, Communications).
One year experience tutoring or teaching.
Supervisory experience.
Ability to organize daily work and perform duties under limited supervision.
Require demonstrated excellent verbal or written communication skills; ability to interact with others.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in the related curricula area (Liberal Arts, Communications).
Demonstrated experience in developmental education.
