Woodbridge School District is accepting applications for an Academic Intervention Teacher at WHS. This is a full-time, 10-month, benefit-eligible teaching position.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Academic Intervention Teacher at WHS will play a crucial role in supporting students who are struggling academically, particularly in core subjects such as English Language Arts and Math. The teacher will work closely with at-risk students and teachers, providing targeted intervention and support to improve students academic skills and overall performance. This position requires collaboration with classroom teachers to design and implement effective instructional strategies, monitor student progress, and adjust interventions as needed. The teacher will utilize data-driven approaches to assess student needs, track progress, and contribute to a positive school climate. Additionally, the teacher will be involved in the development and implementation of intervention programs, participate in and facilitate professional learning communities, and coordinate parent engagement activities to ensure families are informed and involved in their children's academic progress. The successful candidate will also serve as a key member of the school's MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) team, facilitating data team meetings, ensuring proper documentation of interventions, and working collaboratively with school administration and other teachers/specialists to ensure students receive the necessary support for success. This role requires a passion for helping students reach their full potential and a commitment to ongoing professional growth. This position will also work closely with the district instructional specialists and the Director of Curriculum-Instruction to ensure collaboration and vertical alignment of goals for achievement and instruction between all schools across the district.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND EXPECTATIONS:
This is a 10-month position based on a 188-day annual contract. Employees are expected to work 7.5 hours per day, consistent with the established school and district schedules. Responsibilities may include duties beyond instructional time, such as meetings, professional development, and school-related events. Employees are expected to maintain regular attendance, fulfill all assigned responsibilities, and demonstrate flexibility to meet the evolving needs of students, staff, and the district. This position may require additional workdays during the summer months beyond the standard school-year schedule.
