The Department of Ophthalmology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, part of Advocate Healthone of the largest non-profit health systems in the United Statesis seeking a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist to join our full-time academic faculty at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. This role offers an opportunity to deliver high-quality patient care while participating in education, research, and academic growth within a nationally recognized organization.

Position Highlights

Education & Research

Faculty are actively engaged in graduate and postgraduate medical education, clinical research, and innovation. Many diagnostic tests, treatments, and therapies offered at the Eye Center were pioneered by department members. Ongoing involvement in clinical trials allows patients access to advanced therapies not widely available, supporting exceptional outcomes for both common and complex eye conditions.

Qualifications
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) and completion of an ACGME-accredited Ophthalmology Residency
  • Board certification or board eligibility by the American Board of Ophthalmology
  • Valid or eligible North Carolina medical license
  • Demonstrated expertise in comprehensive ophthalmic care, including surgical procedures
  • Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach to care
