The Academic and Education Engagement Coordinator plays a central role in supporting departmental operations and advancing the Haile College of Business's educational pipeline initiatives. This position combines operational support with program coordination and external engagement by (1) providing comprehensive administrative, financial, and systems support to department leadership, (2) managing and supporting dual credit programs to ensure compliance, program quality, and effective communication with instructors and partners, and (3) collaborating closely with the Center for Economic Education (CEE) and K-12 institutions to develop partnerships, coordinate outreach efforts, and deliver teacher training initiatives.
Through these efforts, the position contributes to increased high school engagement, strengthened dual credit participation, and the development of sustainable pathways connecting secondary education to the college.
Primary Responsibilities
Departmental Operations, Administrative & Financial Support
- Provide high-level administrative support to department chair(s), including course scheduling and data management within university systems, managing the hiring process for new full-time and part-time faculty, staff, and student employees, meeting coordination, special projects, and management of purchasing, office operations, and inventory/equipment needs.
- Maintain and reconcile all departmental, foundation, and grant budgets within university financial systems, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.
- Support the accuracy and integrity of departmental data and assist with reporting, tracking, and reconciliation processes related to academic and financial operations.
- Serve as a liaison to other academic and administrative offices, as well as students and the public.
Dual Credit Program Coordination and Compliance
- Oversee operational aspects of dual credit programs, ensuring compliance with university policies and state regulations, and supporting program quality and consistency across partner schools. Act as liaison between the School-Based Scholars office and the HCOB department chairs and coordinators.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for dual credit administrative processes, including tracking program participation, documentation, and reporting requirements, and maintaining ongoing communication with participating instructors.
- Organize and administer teacher training initiatives (e.g., summer programs), including planning, coordination, and execution.
K-12 Partnerships & Educational Outreach
- Partner closely with the Center for Economic Education (CEE) to develop, coordinate, and sustain relationships with local high schools and educational institutions.
- Coordinate and attend outreach events, including school visits and partner engagements, in collaboration with CEE, and provide resources and support to K-12 educators in economics and personal finance.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in business or related field and one or more years of office management/administrative assistant experience.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, ADOBE and basic office equipment
- Ability to lift and work with light objects (generally < 25 pbs.).
- Prefer someone with experience working with students/schools and school systems.
- Ability to drive, dependable vehicle and a valid driver's license are required
