Job Overview Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO is seeking a College of Business and Technology Academic Advisor. The Advisor assists undergraduate students in the College of Business and Technology with academic guidance, fosters inclusivity, and supports student success. This 12‑month position reports to the Senior Director of Student Success.Responsibilities Meet with students interested in CB&T courses to provide academic guidance including graduation requirements, major exploration, course planning, transfer evaluations, and graduate program prep.Maintain students' academic files and record advising activities.Facilitate student academic progress by developing educational plans and making referrals for learning obstacles, tutoring, career decisions, or other needs.Coordinate and participate in advising for new/transfer student and family SOAR (Summer Orientation, Advising, and Registration) and orientation sessions.Identify and collaborate with external service providers such as healthcare, social services, and grant institutions.Serve as a member of the Student Success Network, providing outreach and support to designated students.Assist faculty with student concerns.Travel, evenings, and weekends may be required.Position Requirements 1+ year of experience in higher education with case management, advising, or student success.Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, counseling, or closely related field (preferred).Knowledge of technology, especially accessibility tools and online student success software.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to establish positive, collaborative relationships and self‑manage multiple assignments.Professional interaction with diverse individuals.Effective project management and detail/ deadline orientation.Preferred Requirements Master's degree in higher education, student affairs, social work, psychology, counseling, or related field.Experience with assessment.Experience designing inclusive programming for diverse students.Benefits Medical, dental, vision.Short- and long-term disability.Life insurance.403(b) with university match.Free undergraduate and graduate classes for employees (6 credit hour limit per semester).Free undergraduate classes for spouses and dependent children.Vacation and sick time plus 15 paid holidays.Positive work environment.Leadership and development opportunities.Equal Opportunity Statement Rockhurst University is an Equal Opportunity Employer and uses E-Verify.
