Position Information

Description & Details:

The Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (ABEN) at North Dakota State University seeks applications for a full-time 12-month Administrative Assistant. The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Provide departmental administrative support, including reception, copier codes, email, mail, and phones.
  • Serve as main contact for assigned areas for work orders, fleet vehicle requests, and parking permits.
  • Respond to IT related duties: for example, card key access, listservs, review web content for accuracy, Telephone Administrator and/or software updates, etc.
  • Maintain accurate records for department per requirements, as the Unit Record Coordinator.
  • Oversee and distribute departmental communications, as needed.
  • Schedule meetings, Zoom/Teams calls, create room reservations, etc.
  • Coordinate Event planning (Create contracts, speakers, refreshments, communications, etc).
  • Maintain meeting minutes.
  • Coordinate or submit a request to book travel.
  • Submit purchase requests and receive physical goods, as needed.
  • Facility Management processes: Coordinate office space, submit space change forms, physical key access, etc.
  • Provide support for data requests and reporting.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm

Hiring Range:

$40,000-$45,000

Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED with at least 2 years of experience in an administrative role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree or 2 years of college
  • 3+ years of experience in an administrative role
