Social Media & Narratives Intern

community and share our story in an authentic way to invite others to join our cause.
<\/div>
The Social Media & Narratives Intern works closely with each department and program
<\/div>
to collect stories, pictures, and impact of our work in the community. This position
<\/div>
reports to the Community Engagement Manager.
<\/div>

We are looking for…
<\/div>
We are seeking a high school senior or undergraduate student with an interest in
<\/div>
Marketing, Public Relations, Non -Profit Management, Communications, Professional
<\/div>
Writing, Photography, or other similar fields. This intern will participate in programming
<\/div>
and outreach to take quality pictures and record stories from families. While collecting
<\/div>
stories of success from families themselves, this role will also collect stories from staff.
<\/div>
Once these stories are collected, this intern will organize and format stories for social
<\/div>
media posts, newsletters, presentations, fliers, and more.
<\/div>

Required Experienced and Skills
<\/div>
 Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with families,
<\/div>
colleagues, and community partners.
<\/div>
 Proficiency in managing multiple tasks, keeping accurate records, and maintaining
<\/div>
organized documentation.
<\/div>
 Working well with other team members, community partners, and external
<\/div>
organizations to provide comprehensive support.
<\/div>
 Ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to a positive
<\/div>
organizational culture
<\/div>
 Valid Texas Driver License
<\/div>
 Reliable transportation
<\/div>
 Interns must pass a criminal background check
<\/div>
 Bilingual in English and Spanish, preferred but not required
<\/div>
 Experience in photography and photo editing, preferred but not required
<\/div>
 Experience in professional writing, preferred but not required
<\/div>

Job Duties
<\/div>
 Meet with staff from each department regularly to collect stories of success and
<\/div>
impact
<\/div>
 Compile, edit, organize, and share stories of impact with the Development Team for
<\/div>
social media posts, newsletters, presentations, etc.
<\/div>
 Travel locally to capture pictures and stories during outreach and community events
<\/div>
 Collaborate with the staff to create ways to show our impact to the community
<\/div>

wide range of audiences
<\/div>
 Collaboration: Interns will work directly with the Community Engagement
<\/div>
Manager, ABC staff, and community members on a regular basis.
<\/div>
 Technological Literacy: This role will have the students use multiple software
<\/div>
platforms such as Meta, LinkedIn, Microsoft, video editing, Canva, and more.
<\/div>
 Career Planning: Mentorship in this role includes internship and career
<\/div>
development goals that will be focused on throughout the semester. Introductions
<\/div>
will be made when possible.
<\/div>
 Advocacy: With regular one -on -one meetings, interns will be encouraged to
<\/div>
share concerns, goals, and insights.
