What does a ABA Behavior Technician - Early Intervention - In Clinic Services do?

As a new ABA Behavior Technician at Arches ABA Therapy, you can expect an engaging and fulfilling daily routine focused on delivering high-quality Applied Behavior Analysis for children with Autism and ASD. Your day will typically run from Monday to Friday during daytime hours, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional flexibility to accommodate client needs. Each session will involve implementing individualized treatment plans, tracking client progress, and collaborating with other professionals to ensure the best outcomes.

You will be actively involved in creating a fun learning environment where empathy and support are paramount. Your daily routine centers on 1-on-1 direct therapy using positive reinforcement to help clients with autism develop communication, social, and daily living skills while managing challenging behaviors. A solid background in working with children ages 2-6 is crucial, as you will be applying your proficiency in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques to assist in their developmental journey. Obtaining a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification within six months is necessary, along with the Louisiana Behavior Analyst Board (LBAB) line technician registration. Your success in this role will also depend on strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interactions with clients and their families. Collaboration and effective time-management abilities are critical for structuring your daily activities.

Additionally, you must possess the physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and maintain various stances like kneeling, crawling, or squatting for extended periods. Manual dexterity for handling electronic devices is essential, as is a valid driver’s license with proof of auto insurance. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, while a Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • Experience working with children ages 2–6
  • Proficiency in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
  • Louisiana Behavior Analyst Board (LBAB) line technician registration
  • CPR and BLS certification 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Collaboration and time-management abilities
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and maintain various stances (kneel crawl and squat) for extended periods
  • Manual dexterity for electronic devices and small items
  • Valid driver’s license with proof of auto insurance
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred)
