About the Role


Tier One Transmissions is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented A Technician to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. We specialize in transmission repair, rebuilds, and diagnostic services for pickup and light-duty trucks. If you take pride in precision troubleshooting, high-quality workmanship, and mastering complex drivetrain and electrical systems, we want to hear from you.


Key Responsibilities


  • Perform advanced diagnostic troubleshooting and repairs on pickup and light-duty truck transmissions (both automatic and manual).
  • Diagnose complex electrical issues, wiring harnesses, sensor failures, and control modules (PCM/TCM) using modern diagnostic scanners and scopes.
  • Execute complete transmission removals and replacements.
  • Perform valve body installations, minor repairs, and adjustments.
  • Conduct road tests, multi-point inspections, and post-repair quality assurance checks.
  • Maintain clear documentation on work orders and communicate repair needs efficiently with the service and parts teams.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.

Required Qualifications


  • Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience as a professional automotive technician.
  • Specialization: Proven experience in transmission removal, replacement, and diagnostics, including electrical diagnostics specifically tailored to pickup and light-duty trucks (Ford, GM, Ram, etc.).
  • Tools: Must possess a complete set of professional-grade hand tools and diagnostic equipment suitable for master-level work.
  • Certifications: ASE Master Technician certification or transmission/electrical certifications preferred.
  • Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving abilities, proficiency with advanced scan tools, high attention to detail, and the critical thinking skills required to operate independently throughout the workday.
  • Requirements: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
