STS Technical Services is hiring A&P Technicians in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

This role supports a commercial MRO operation performing comprehensive maintenance, repair, and overhaul services on commercial aircraft and components. The A&P Technician ensures safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance while operating in a high-volume environment with tight turnaround schedules.

If you hold an Airframe or Airframe & Powerplant license and thrive in a structured, standards-driven maintenance setting, this opportunity offers hands-on work in a professional MRO environment.

Position Summary

The A&P Technician is responsible for performing inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and overhaul services in accordance with FAA regulations and OEM technical data. This position requires precision, efficiency, and strict adherence to approved maintenance procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections and special maintenance to prevent failures of aircraft mechanical systems and components
  • Conduct operational checks on hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, plumbing, precision assemblies, rigging, and controls
  • Determine whether components require repair or replacement and identify appropriate repair schemes
  • Secure necessary parts and materials from stores or departmental supplies
  • Repair, rework, and modify worn or defective assemblies
  • Follow FAA-approved maintenance procedures and OEM technical data
  • Consult Maintenance Lead when technical assistance is required
  • Inspect completed work prior to sign-off and perform rework as necessary
  • Conduct serviceability testing using manufacturer-specified test equipment
  • Complete work package documentation accurately and sign or stamp designated operations
  • Submit work to Maintenance Lead and Quality Control for inspection and airworthiness recertification
  • Provide performance statistics and operational data to management as requested
  • Accurately account for time and materials used during maintenance activities

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Airframe or Airframe & Powerplant License required

Experience

  • Airframe or Airframe & Powerplant License required
  • Two or more years of aircraft repair or maintenance experience recommended
  • Experience in general aviation, component repair, overhaul, or military aviation acceptable
  • Preferred two or more years of recent depot-level aircraft maintenance experience
  • Experience interpreting OEM technical data and work package instructions
  • Experience using power and pneumatic hand tools
  • Related industry experience may be considered at the hiring manager’s discretion

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Working knowledge of aircraft mechanical systems and components
  • Ability to perform moderately complex technical assignments
  • Knowledge of tools, machines, and maintenance equipment
  • Understanding of FAA aircraft maintenance regulations
  • Ability to interpret manufacturer and FAA-approved work package instructions
  • Strong troubleshooting, installation, and repair skills
  • Ability to assist advanced technicians on complex assignments
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and customer service

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work in compliance with OSHA, EPA, State, and Federal regulations
  • Ability to wear a respirator in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 regulations
  • Ability to work flexible hours and shifts as required
  • Subject to random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations
