8844-OL - Agile Developer - Level 3 Forte Meade, MD (onsite) 5+ Years Contract Summary Client is seeking an experienced software development professional specializing in microservices architecture and cloud-native development within classified DoD/IC environments. This role focuses on building scalable microservices, leveraging AWS cloud services, and implementing DevOps and CI/CD practices to support modern distributed systems. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in Java/Spring Boot or Python, strong knowledge of AWS services, and the ability to contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and deployment. Responsibilities Develop Java Spring Boot-based microservices using AWS-native technologies Build RESTful services capable of handling complex data filtering and selection Design and implement microservice architectures to modernize legacy systems Develop, test, and deploy scalable distributed systems following best practices Utilize Python to optimize AWS services including Lambda, Step Functions, EC2, and S3 Implement cloud-native solutions using AWS services such as DynamoDB and CloudWatch Develop serverless applications and orchestration workflows Implement CI/CD pipelines using Maven, GitLab, and GitOps practices Manage containerized deployments with Kubernetes and Docker Integrate configuration management tools such as Ansible Maintain version control and branching strategies in GitLab Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming Deliver incremental software aligned with Agile sprint cycles Collaborate with stakeholders to refine user stories and acceptance criteria Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes Implement and optimize Elastic Search and Open Search solutions Design and manage NoSQL databases including MongoDB and DynamoDB Manage data persistence layers for microservices Implement OAuth/OIDC authentication and authorization Develop automated test suites using Cypress and Cucumber Implement unit, integration, and end-to-end testing strategies Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and security Enforce testing automation practices for continuous delivery Collaborate with team members and stakeholders across functions Participate in technical design discussions and architecture reviews Provide mentorship and technical guidance Document system designs, APIs, and operational procedures Requirements Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience); Masters degree may substitute for 2 years of experience 12+ years of professional software development experience (or 9+ years with a Bachelors, or 7+ years with a Masters degree) Experience in microservices architecture and cloud-native development in DoD/IC classified environments Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph Experience with AWS services including DynamoDB, Lambda, and CloudWatch Proficiency in at least three of the following: Java/Spring Boot Python Elastic Search/Open Search Microservices architecture CI/CD tools (AWS tools, Maven, GitLab, GitOps, Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible) NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB) OAuth/OIDC implementation Test automation frameworks (Cypress, Cucumber) Strong understanding of RESTful API design Experience modernizing legacy systems to microservices architectures Kubernetes and Docker in production environments Ansible for configuration management and automation Advanced MongoDB and DynamoDB schema design CI/CD pipeline optimization using GitLab and GitOps Experience with AWS CloudWatch monitoring and logging Familiarity with DoD/IC security compliance (STIGs, RMF) Metasys Technologies is an equal opportunity employer.
