Senior Program Manager - Enterprise Systems

Role Summary

The Senior Program Manager (SPM), Enterprise Systems is a senior, hands on delivery leader accountable for the end to end execution of large scale, multi year enterprise application and business transformation programs. Operating at the intersection of business strategy, technology execution, and organizational change, this role drives predictable delivery, transparency, and measurable value realization across complex, global initiatives. The SPM owns full accountability for program outcomes-scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and benefits-while acting as a trusted partner to executive sponsors. This is not a coordination role; it is a highly visible leadership position requiring decisive execution, strong governance, critical thinking/decision making and the ability to scale delivery across enterprise platforms, vendors, and cross functional teams.

Responsibilities / What You''ll Do

Program & Portfolio Leadership

  • Lead one or more large, complex enterprise programs or a portfolio of interdependent initiatives aligned to strategic priorities.
  • Own the full program lifecycle from initiation and planning through execution, cutover, stabilization, transition to steady state operations and value realization.
  • Define integrated roadmaps, master schedules, critical path plans, and delivery strategies across business, application, data, integration, and change workstreams.
  • Maintain end to end accountability for scope, schedule, budget, quality, risks, dependencies, and outcomes.

Governance, PMO Rigor & Delivery Excellence

  • Establish and operate robust enterprise governance frameworks including Steering Committees, design authorities, stage gates, and escalation protocols.
  • Enforce disciplined change control, financial management, forecasting, and scope governance through formal Change Control Boards.
  • Ensure consistent application of PMO standards, methodology, best practices, lifecycle controls, tools, reporting, documentation and audit ready practices across all workstreams.
  • Govern integrated master planning, dependency management, and resource capacity across internal teams and partners.
  • Maintain full traceability from business case through delivery and value realization.

Delivery Accountability & Risk Management

  • Own and maintain the program''s RAID log (Risks, Actions, Issues, Decisions), proactively identifying and mitigating risks before they impact delivery timelines, budget, or scope.
  • Drive timely decision making, escalation, and issue resolution in high risk, high impact situations.
  • Ensure execution quality across all phases including design, build, testing, release readiness, and post go live stabilization.

Executive & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary point of accountability for executive sponsors and Steering Committees.
  • Deliver concise, executive ready dashboards, risk assessments, and decision materials that provide data-driven insight-not just status.
  • Translate complex delivery dynamics into clear trade offs and actionable recommendations for senior leaders.
  • Build alignment across business and technology leaders with competing priorities.
  • Maintain full transparency into program health and outcomes.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Drive alignment and coordination across Business, IT, Finance, Data, Security, Operations, and Organizational Change Management stakeholders-ensuring shared understanding of objectives, dependencies, and delivery commitments.
  • Operate effectively within a matrixed organization, influencing without direct authority and building consensus across diverse stakeholder groups with competing priorities.
  • Serve as the connective tissue between functional business owners, technical delivery teams, enterprise architecture, and executive sponsors.

Vendor & Partner Management

  • Lead vendor led and hybrid onshore/offshore delivery models.
  • Develop, manage, and enforce Statements of Work (SOWs), milestones, and contractual deliverables holding system integrators, software vendors, and partners accountable for deliverables, timelines, and quality standards.

Enterprise Systems & Transformation Leadership

  • Lead full lifecycle implementations and transformations across ERP, CRM, revenue management, commerce, and enterprise data platforms.
  • Drive business process redesign and operating model evolution to enable adoption and measurable value realization.
  • Oversee complex data migrations, integrations, testing cycles (SIT, UAT, parallel), cutover planning, and hypercare.
  • Manage highly interdependent enterprise landscapes with global scope and competing priorities.
  • Lead teams effectively through ambiguity, transformation, and continuous change.

Methods, Governance Models & Delivery Approaches

  • Apply and tailor Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid, and SAFe delivery models based on program complexity.
  • Operate within enterprise SDLC, security, compliance, and audit controls.
  • Integrate Agile execution with enterprise governance and financial controls.
  • Lead global hybrid delivery models across onshore, offshore, and managed services teams.

Metrics, Reporting & Executive Insights

  • Establish a metrics driven program management system across schedule, financials, scope, risk, quality, resources, and value realization.
  • Define and track leading indicators to enable proactive intervention and predictive insight.
  • Deliver standardized, executive ready dashboards with a single source of truth across tools and portfolios.
  • Provide trend analysis, scenario modeling, and forward looking risk forecasting.
