Job Summary

The James H. Quillen College of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, East Tennessee State University, offers a full or part-time opportunity to a physician who is board-certified or board-eligible at the time of hire with a competitive salary and benefits. This is a 12-month clinical track position. Faculty rank commensurate with education and experience. Clinical track appointments may be convertible to tenure-track no later than the end of year three of the appointment.

Responsibilities • Inpatient and outpatient care management • Telehealth • In-hospital labor and delivery coverage • Participation in teaching activities with medical students and residents in collaboration with our OB/GYN specialists

Our outpatient care is located in a single multi-specialty clinical education building across the street from Johnson City Medical Center, which is our primary in-patient site.

Johnson City Medical Center (JCMC) is a designated tertiary care and level 1 trauma center and part of the State of Tennessees perinatal network. We care for patients in Northeast Tennessee as well as Southwest Virginia, Northwest North Carolina, and Southeast Kentucky.

Development and participation in research and scholarly activities and involvement in university, departmental, and hospital committees are strongly encouraged. Translational research in collaboration with our university-based basic science researchers is available.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of general academic policies and curriculum issues • Knowledge of Tennessee Board of Regents policies • Knowledge of accreditation policies where appropriate • Ability to engage in constructive problem-solving and to make sound decisions • Ability to communicate effectively with faculty and staff within the department, college, university, and diverse campus and community constituencies • Ability to work collaboratively with the leadership of other academic and administrative units to develop appropriate policies and/or programs • Ability to promote student success and faculty excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service

Required Qualifications

• MD degree • Board eligible/board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology at time of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience/interest in womens health
