The Luxemburg-Casco School District seeks a full-time 6th grade English Language Arts teacher. We are looking for a teacher who truly believes all students can succeed in a global environment by ensuring excellence in both intellect and virtue. We are looking for a teacher who will work well in a collaborative environment and be centered around student success. The teacher must be lifelong learners and be able to build learner capacity in a face-to-face and blended environment.
Required standard minimum skills and qualifications:
Candidates must have a valid WI Department of Public Instruction license or eligibility to obtain license upon hire (Elementary Education through 6th grade, or Language Arts License that encompasses 6th grade).
Plan instruction that meets student needs and curricular requirements.
Offer appropriate and engaging instruction that is student centered.
Knowledge of best practices in differentiating instruction.
Preferred knowledge and past implementation of HMH Into Literature resources.
Willingness to plan and adapt instruction for advanced classes.
Assess student work to support growth.
Provide a safe and secure learning environment.
Demonstrate professionalism and an ability to communicate effectively.
Willingness to collaborate with others on curriculum, assessment and instruction, as well as the creation of lesson plans/materials.
Have a growth mindset and the willingness to be a lifelong learner.
Belief that there is a difference between failure and being a failure. Some of the greatest lessons come from failing - but only if you''re willing to learn from them.
Have a background in understanding data to support building level systems such as RTI and PBIS.
Participates in all required training, at both a school and district level.
Completes additional duties, as assigned by the principal, to meet requirements of school and federal guidelines.
