Job Summary: Were seeking a dedicated and passionate 6th Grade English/Language Arts Teacher to join our team. Our ideal candidate is someone who loves literature, values student voice, and understands the importance of building strong foundational reading and writing skills during the transition into middle school. This teacher will engage students in reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking through meaningful, culturally relevant instruction that prepares them for success in upper grades and beyond.
In this role, youll design lessons that connect grade-level texts to real-world experiences, support students in strengthening comprehension and writing skills, and create a classroom environment where curiosity and confidence grow. A strong working knowledge of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for Grade 6 English Language Arts and Reading is essential to ensure instruction aligns with state standards and student learning goals. Youll also play an active role in building a positive school culture through collaboration, consistent communication, and a commitment to the growth of every learner.
