Medication Manager - Assisted Living Facility
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medication Manager to join
our compassionate team. As a Medication Manager, you will oversee the
safe and accurate administration of medications to our residents. This
role demands meticulous attention to detail, proficiency in medication
administration protocols, and a commitment to excellence in healthcare
delivery.
Duties:
- Administer medications to residents following prescribed dosages and schedules
- Monitor residents for any adverse reactions or side effects from medications
- Maintain precise and up-to-date medication records to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Coordinate with healthcare professionals to manage medication orders and refills efficiently
- Educate residents and their families on medication usage and potential side effects
- Assist with additional healthcare tasks as needed, such as catheter care or medical record management
- Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations, safeguarding the confidentiality of resident information
- Collaborate with medical office staff to optimize medication management systems
- Provide compassionate support and assistance to residents with developmental disabilities in medication administration
Requirements:
- Previous experience in medication administration, preferably in a hospice care or assisted living setting
- Proficient knowledge of medical terminology and medication management protocols
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in medication administration
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
Additionally:
- Willingness to assist with housekeeping duties, including maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in resident living spaces
- Ability to engage residents in recreational activities and social interactions to enhance their well-being
- May be required to provide assistance as a dietary aide, aiding in meal preparation and serving
