58-26 Traffic Control Crew Chief: Perform advanced set up of traffic signal equipment and management software system; to insure the proper operation of traffic signals and signal management system; and to perform a variety of technical and manual tasks relative to ensuring that all traffic control devices and management systems are installed/configured, maintained and operated to function properly and safely. Construct and maintain Traffic Control signs and barricades around work zones according to MUTCD (Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices) guidelines and to perform traffic control for special events or activities in the City. This is a working crew leader position that generally supervises one to five workers in the Public Works Department.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in traffic control operations with emphasis on installation, operation, maintenance and repair of traffic signals and related equipment is desired. NIMS 100, 200 & 700 are required. Must obtain NIMS 300 & 400 within first year, as available. Must obtain OSHA 30 within first year, as available. Valid driver's license is required. Ability to obtain Oklahoma driver's license within thirty days of hire.
Starting salary: $27.81 plus a comprehensive benefit package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, annual leave, sick leave, holidays, and personal days. A completed City of Stillwater application is required for consideration, resume and cover letter preferred.
