One position available:

8:45 am - 4:15 pm

To assist the 4 year-old kindergarten teacher in providing and achieving the learning objectives in all curriculum areas and ensuring physical and emotional safety of the classroom environment. Enrich the educational learning experience for children, by working in partnership and collaboration with a variety of adults focused on supporting the development of intellectual, emotional, social and physical growth and maturation.

Must be willing to obtain a Special Education Aide License through the WI Department of Public Instruction with a District endorsement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide assistance on an individual or small group basis under teacher direction for instructional objectives.
  • Assist teacher in with material preparation and maintenance of records, materials, and class activities.
  • Participate in and correctly models all learning activities.
  • Help students with materials, concepts, or directions during instruction, independent work, and play time.
  • Follow written plans of activities approved by the assigned teacher.
  • Assist and monitor students as they work and play at classroom centers, and through the school, both inside and outside.
  • Assist teacher with instruction of students, in the classroom, on field trips, and during family activities.
  • Supervise and intervene as needed in classroom, on the playground, during snack time and on field trips, adhering to the teacher's classroom management plan, and the school's discipline policy.
  • Assist students with snacks, clean-up routines, and other hygiene issues including bathrooming.
  • Communicates with classroom teacher about any problems or special information concerning students.
  • Assist teacher with testing situations such as organizing materials, proctoring, and/or supervising classroom activities.
  • Foster the development of early learners to become more independent.
  • Assist substitute teacher and classroom volunteers as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher and/or Building Principal.
